Visiting
We
are so thankful to have hosted many visitors here. We invite people to
participate in our life together as we learn to love one another from
the heart and care for our land and animals The Morning Star Ranch is
located in North County San Diego, in Southern California. If you follow
the Pacific Ocean breeze east from Oceanside, you will find yourself in
a peaceful valley of ancient oak trees, cow pastures, and avocado
groves. In the small town of Valley Center, CA lies our 60 acre ranch. We care for 35 acres of avocados and newly planted olive trees, as well as a large citrus
and persimmon orchard. We have fenced off six acres where we grow row
crops, such as lettuce, beets, tomatoes...
We milk our Jersey cows and kinder goats by hand every morning and evening, providing us with fresh raw milk. Currently we bring our vegetables to six farmer's markets in the area, as well as our green drink, made from organic fruits and vegetables we grow on our farm.
Volunteering
Visitors have the opportunity to learn about and experience the many areas of life in a true agricultural community. This includes working in an organic garden: weeding, planting, harvesting, etc., as well as picking, drying, and packing fruit during the season, construction projects, organic food preparation, making cheese and yogurt, etc...
